Mark Zuckerberg

This 30 year old internet entrepreneur and philanthropist started off his life when he created an internal campus social network at Harvard which was then distributed to other major universities in the country. His idea then grew and he launched “The Facebook” which then became facebook.com, the world’s largest and most used social network. In fact they now have almost 1.5 billion users worldwide, knowing that less than 3 billion people who have access to the Internet, this means that half of the internet users on earth are on Facebook and that nearly a quarter of the world’s population is on Facebook as well. This social network monopoly that Zuckerberg has, is what enables him to achieve such great philanthropic feats, because Facebook’s cash flow is astounding, but as it is with Google, when the service is free, the consumer is actually the product being sold. And to prove that he has no need for great fortunes, he recently joined the unofficial “1$ Salary” club, which has members such as Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs (PBUH)… This strategic move from Mark Zuckerberg is part of a larger plan to clean up Facebook’s corporate image, because it has been darkened by recent events concerning privacy issues on the website and some mergers and acquisitions that had been made which did not suit some board members and shareholders. The from the top of his 30 years of age, he shows us that anything is possible in life and that from what he has learned, the good and the bad, he will be able to thrive and continue his entrepreneurial quest, in fact he plans to expand Facebook into the physical world with phones, tablets and laptops, the road is still long but if he plans to get into the market as he did with Facebook, he will probably have a lot of problems with the other computer giants and especially with Apple. Facebook is also launching a plethora of new services, Such as video streaming services, P2P payment systems and many more… Whether it is going to succeed or not, we can be sure that Mark Zuckerberg will continue expanding his technological empire, made of a succession of millions of “0” and “1”.
